Habits
Usually we think about breaking/kicking bad habits rather than creating/keeping good habits.
So?
I'm very much "out of" the habit of writing, and I'm not sure why. It could be I'm hiding things from myself, kind of like going around with my eyes closed, or averted from things I just don't want to see/take responsibility for. Maybe I don't have anything left to say.
That's rediculous!
Well, there is one thing I've been feeling guilty about.
What's your dirty secret?
I haven't made up my mind on the War issue. I'm still sitting on the fence. Nothing the administration has said thus far has convinced me that it's necessary, but on the other hand I haven't heard everything they've said. My sister is absolutely against it. When I spoke with her I didn't tell her I was, or was not. I just let her assume that I was "in her camp." My friend Abbott is totally for going. He says, "we should have moved weeks ago, and screw the UN." How can war lead to peace? Is that an oxymoron? Is war inevitable? I just don't know.
How did we get from good habits to questioning the inevitability of war?
All I can say is that just thinking about this gives me indigestion, but it's something I must come to terms with / must have a position on.
Why?
It's not that I'm apathetic; it's that I'm undecided. Is it indecision that caused stress?

Oh dear! Even OMG
I just realized I've got to change back to weekly archives temporarily to update the new design to all my links to prior weekly posts. Perhaps, starting fresh (wiping out all archive history) is not such a bad idea. And guess what? When viewed as former weekly permanent linked posts the design is NOT consistent. **Grumble** - **Gripe** Permanent is not permanent, or rather not permanently perfect.

How often do you read your archives?
Why do you ask?
While involved in tweaking my archives to look relatively alike in Netscape 4x, IE and Mozilla I started following the links. It appears that about 1 in 3 in the older archives (over a year ago) don't work anymore (no such URL), or the domain has been sold, and the information is no longer relevant. A year's worth of posts is quite a bit to deal with. Do I scrap the archives, forget about the "broken" links or update the links? I must confess that the archives I usually read on other's sites are some of the oldest, because I'm curious about how someone got started blogging, and what issues are/were important to them. Some say that people don't change, but I think they do. We change in subtle ways that sometimes we aren't even aware of.

Up early
Net. 4x not looking too bad, and almost like IE. However, to make it look exactly alike, I would be defeating the purpose of CSS. So, you Net. 4x folks really aught to consider upgrading your browsers. I know some businesses still only have Net. 4 installed, and that's why I continue to make the effort required to provide a page with a similar look for all browsers. Dummying down the CSS is not the answer. One of the Net. 4x fixes/work around I stumbled across, while reading various CSS tutorials takes advantage of a Net. 4x parsing error. By enclosing those pieces of code causing problems between /*/*/ and /* End */ Anything between will be ignored by Net. 4x. I've republished all the archive files with the new template, and there are still a few bugs to tweak. The pages definitely load much faster without the graphic bloat, but I miss the funky look. Perhaps this is not the finished redesign, but rather a step on the way. Last week I finished up the design of my brother's web site Rosenberry Associates Inc. Maybe Art Attack Central needs a facelift as well.

More of making it work
Still can't make this look right in Netscape 4, and there are table problems with the images at the top, but for today it's time to quit! Somebody should put a stop to Netscape 4!

OKAY! comments and counting, yeaaaaaa. Now I can concentrate on making this look decent, or at least acceptable.

You might be asking yourself, but why CSS?
This page was so graphics heavy it took forever to load, so my reasoning is: go from too F-ing long to instant load (well almost instant).
But who cares if it's instant crappy looking?

Boy is this a mess! Well, I'm working on it. Yes it's true a CSS queen I'm not, and what makes it more difficult is that I'm such a stickler for trying to make it look pretty much the same in all browsers.

Why not?
I'm not sure why not exactly, but the whole site needs a makeover. I need a makeover.

I know isn't that an odd/funny word? I've heard of making out. Maybe it's like that over, under, through it thing, only this is the over part. Tuesday Too was born about a year ago; maybe she needs a birthday party. I'll send out invitations. Be sure to bring your party hat.

Tuesday Too or Not?
Maybe it's because I don't have a Gary Larson calendar this year, or maybe it's because... Anyway, here are some things to ponder on. Oddly, perhaps ironically sya wrote about how/why people remember where they were, and what they were doing on historically momentous occasions such as the Challenger explosion on lift off in 1986, only days before the explosion of the shuttle on reentry. If you haven't already done so, tell us what you were doing, and how you found out what was happening? If you've already written about your reactions to the accident, point to that post.
